Zyme Prime™️ is an enzyme formulation targeted to support the breakdown of complex carbohydrates. Zyme Prime also supports the digestive breakdown of triglyceride fats, starches, and proteins.
While not as potent in protein breakdown as AFP Peptizyde, Zyme Prime excels at carb breakdown. This results in less dietary distress, as well as helping certain food problems such as lactose intolerance.
Zyme Prime is helpful in easing the occasional dietary problems as lactose and fatty food intolerance. Results may include firmer and more formed stools.
Contraindications for Enzyme Supplementation
This product may not be appropriate for those with known allergies to Aspergillus enzyme proteins, though non-specific mold allergies do not necessarily preclude use of fungal enzymes. Consult your medical doctor for further advice, and err on the side of caution. Those with known anaphylactic allergic reactions to fungal proteins should NOT ingest fungal-derived enzymes.

This product includes the following materials that are either derived from or contain allergens which must be declared on labels per the US Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA): The production process used to manufacture the enzymes found in this product utilizes fermentation materials that are derived from or contain the allergens listed below. While these fermentation materials should be either consumed during fermentation or removed from the enzyme during additional enzyme isolation steps, minute traces of these allergens may be left in the final enzyme product. While these traces are expected to be below the limits of detection for standard ELISA based allergen testing methods‡, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of these allergens: ‡NOTE: Enzymes and probiotics can interfere with common ELISA based allergen test kits, producing either false positives or false negatives in these tests. When performing allergen testing on enzyme containing products, special sample preparation techniques must be utilized to avoid this interference. CereCalase® is a trademark of Deerland Probiotics & Enzymes, and contains hemicellulase, glucanase, and phytase. |
Dosage
Zyme Prime
No upper limit has been established for oral enzyme supplementation. Animal studies indicate that extremely large doses of enzymes may be ingested without toxicity or ill effect. Most report Zyme Prime dosing of from 1 to 4 capsules per meal. Dosing is based on the amount of food ingested during a meal, not by body weight or age. Feel free to vary the dosage of Zyme Prime based on content and size of meal. Those meals higher in carbohydrates and/or fats may call for higher doses of Zyme Prime. For reasons of practicality, no more than 5 capsules need be taken at one time, with no more than 9 capsules taken consistently in any 24-hour period.†
Frequently Asked Questions
Which product is best, Zyme Prime or ZyCarb?
There is no one “best” product for all. Choose the product based on your individual needs based on product description. For example, if constipation is a problem, choose ZyCarb over Zyme Prime.
Will taking oral enzymes cause my pancreas to stop making enzymes?
No. Studies have shown little or no effect of oral enzymes on pancreatic enzyme production. The pancreas enzyme production is not regulated by a feedback system, and has no way of determining whether you are taking oral enzymes.
Can I take Zyme Prime products with my medications?
Yes. Zyme Prime and ZyCarb can be taken with other supplements and medications. One should use caution with cellulase-containing products with sustained-release products. While no incidents have been reported, in theory, cellulase may affect a cellulose-regulated release mechanism.†
What is the dosing for Zyme Prime and ZyCarb?
No one dose is suitable for all. Dosing is not calculated based on age or body weight, but by how much is eaten in any one meal. Large meals or meals with foods that may not be well-tolerated, may require higher levels of enzyme. No toxicity occurs at any dosing level for enzymes so you can take many with no worry of side effects. We encourage some experimentation to find the amount that works best for you. 1 or 2 capsules per meal seems to be fine for most, however.†
