CystoProtek® – 90 Capsules

CystoProtek®. is an all natural oral dietary supplement in a soft gel capsule, developed to reduce the symptoms and pain associated with Interstitial Cystitis (IC).

CystoProtek® uses an exclusive combination of flavonoids along with sodium hyaluronate, based on the scientific research of Dr. Theoharides M.D., PhD,. CystoProtek® contains glucosamine, quercetin and rutin for anti-inflammatory properties as well as chondroitin sulfate and sodium hyaluronate to help replenish the damaged glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer of the bladder. Unique to Algonot’s formulations is olive kernel oil, a powerful anti-oxidant that is instrumental in helping the body absorb and delivery the dry ingredients found in each soft gel capsule.

Results of two clinical studies showed CystoProtek® to be effective in reducing the pain and improving the overall symptoms in patients with IC. 1 and was well tolerated when ingesting 4-6 soft gel capsules per day for 4 – 6 months. These clinical studies also indicate that people who have failed other therapies can be given in conjunction with other oral and intervesical therapies. There was stomach upset in less than 1% of subjects, especially those with concurrent Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

CystoProtek® is free from artificial colors or flavors, corn, milk products, preservatives, salt, starch, sugar, wheat or yeast. Our ingredients are not obtained from beef or beef by-products. CystoProtek® is not an analgesic.

Flavonoids are natural molecules found mostly in green plants and seeds. Unfortunately, our modern life diet contains progressively fewer flavonoids and those that are consumed are difficult to absorb because they do not dissolve in water. Under these conditions, the average person cannot consume enough to make a positive health difference.

Quercetin (Saphora Plant > 95% Pure) is a natural non-acidic (flavanoid) with potent anti-inflammatory capabilities. Quercetin is added to CystoProtek® to help relieve the swelling associated from inflammatory disease and protect from further damage associated with mast cell activation. The Quercetin used in CystoProtek® is obtained from the saphora plant. Algonot decisively choose not to use the more common and less expensive source of fava beans, which could cause hemolytic anemia, particularly in people of Mediterranean origin.

Rutin (Saphora Plant > 95% Pure) is a glycoside of the flavonoid Quercetin. Like quercetin, rutin is extracted from the saphora plant and is a non-acidic natural flavonoid that adds additional anti-inflammatory qualities. Rutin helps liberate quercetin in the intestine, making absorption easier. Rutin has been shown to be the strongest antioxidant in studies.

Chondroitin Sulfate (Shark Cartilage > 95% Pure) is one of the main components of cartilage and mucosa layers. Chondroitin sulfate forms the connective tissue that holds muscles, nerves, and blood vessels together. Because of this, it is a building block component for the GI protective glycosaminoglycan (GAG) and mucosa layers found throughout the body. Chondroitin sulfate also inhibits the release of enzymes that trigger joint destruction.

Glucosamine Sulfate (Shellfish Chitin > 95% Pure) is a key building block of joint cartilage and is also present in the soft material between bones and joints. It is a building block for the GI Protective glycosaminoglycan (GAG) and mucosa layers found throughout the body. It also has mild anti-inflammatory properties.

Olive Kernel Oil (Unprocessed, MicroFiltered) is a potent low-acidic anti-oxidant that can help repair damaged tissues. This oil (a lipid) plays an important role in CystoProtek® because it is effective in helping the body to absorb chondroitin, glucosamine, quercetin, rutin and sodium hyaluronate. We use only virgin olive seed oil from the island of Crete.

Sodium Hyaluronate (Rooster Comb > 95% Pure) is also a component of protective connective tissues, including the protective GAG layers of the bladder. It is essential in the rebuilding process.

Other Ingredients: Gelatin (not from beef), soy lecithin, beeswax, glycerin, purified water, and carob extract. Contains: fish (shark), shellfish chitin (shrimp, crab, lobster), and soy.

CystoProtek® is not a cure and it may not offer immediate relief of pain and suffering. As inflammatory diseases take time to develop, it takes time to reverse the damage done to the body. It may take up to 90 -120 days for CystoProtek® to offer you relief from your symptoms.
