Organic Cilantro Extract Tincture – Coriandrum sativum (“Chinese parsley”) 4 fl oz. tincture with dropper.

Cilantro has been an important medicinal herb for thousands of years. It was referred to in the Medical Papyrus of Thebes written in 1552 B.C. and found in ancient Egyptian tombs. The following health benefits attributed to cilantro are only a sampling of a much more extensive list. It is a powerful antioxidant with diuretic properties.* It is also believed to be an aid to digestion, enhancing the body’s natural ability to produce beneficial enzymes and acids, calming the stomach, stimulating peristaltic motion in the intestine, and decreasing flatulence.* The essential oils of cilantro can help boost the body’s immune system and have even been thought to be an aphrodisiac.*

BioPure’s herbal tinctures are each chosen for their specific health-supporting properties and strictly selected from the finest harvests. BioPure selects products grown in an environment free of fertilizers and insecticides. Our formulas are based on herbs with a historical track record in traditional cultures that have been used for centuries.

The cilantro herb (Coriandrum sativum) we are used to seeing on grocery store shelves is commonly referred to as ‘Chinese parsley’, and is actually the leaves and stems of the coriander plant. The pungent tasting leaves are widely used in Mexican, Caribbean, and Asian cooking. Coriander seeds are small and round and have a citrusy, nutty flavor when crushed, and are a popular spice, especially in Indian, Asian, and Mediterranean cuisine.

The most notable property of cilantro is its ability to help detoxify the body by binding with heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and aluminum, and aiding in their elimination. There are many avenues of exposure to potentially dangerous metals in our environment, in our jobs, in medicines we take, and in the foods we eat.

BioPure Organic Cilantro Tincture is a liquid extract of the active ingredients of the herb, made by soaking it in an organic corn alcohol at a 1 to 4 herb-to-menstrum ratio. Tinctures maintain their potency and have a longer shelf life than dried herbs.
